About the event
Add the power and pleasure of writing animal personal poems to your poetry toolbox. A non-human perspective can be an effective approach to writing about environmental concerns, witnessing traumatic events, or simply to infuse your writing with fresh energy. We will read poems demonstrating the variety of voices other poets have used to speak from a non-human point of view--poems that foreground the perspective of animals. Each participant should also bring one of your own poems written from a non-human point of view, or written from any perspective that you think could use a re-write, and we’ll share them in a supportive workshop context focusing on whether using a non-human persona might elevate the poem’s effectiveness. In the week after the workshop, Cindy will read and comment on each participant's re-crafted poem. Register to get the event link. FREE to PSOV members -- If you're not a member, please joi…
